KCIt is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of a great Kansas Citian, Landon H. Rowland, who died Monday, December 28th after battling a long illness. Landon played a pivotal role in furthering the initiatives that continue to make Kansas City a great place to live and work; from the south/north expansion of Kansas City Southern Railway; to the purchase of Lead Bank, which provides working capital to small businesses; to the establishment of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City.  Mr. Rowland was also a strong supporter of the Arts, The American Royal, and Education.  Through Landon’s efforts, he made the quality of life better across our metropolitan area, regardless of social or economic status. On behalf of the Mountain Plains Minority Supplier Development Council, we extend our deepest condolences.
