Supplier Diversity integrates minority and woman owned companies into the supply chain.  Many corporations have a supplier diversity goal integrated into their strategic plan, either directly, or indirectly.  There is a special group of 18 companies that spend $1 billion directly with minority and woman owned companies on an annual basis.  These companies comprise the members of the Billion Dollar Roundtable (BDR).  A number of them are corporate members in the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) network.

The Member corporations range in size from $379 Billion on the high end to $42 Billion on the low end.  And the average Tier 1 spend is currently at 9.8%, up from 7% last year.  On a consolidated basis, the 18 corporations represent industries ranging from automotive to telecommunications, including aviation, information technology, consumer products, and general merchandise retail, to name a few.  The BDR members drive this high level of spending because of the direct impact that it has on their market share and brand equity.

Below is the list of companies that currently make up the Billion Dollar Roundtable:

The mission of the Billion Dollar Roundtable is to drive supplier diversity excellence through best practice sharing and thought leadership, while their vision is to lead, influence and shape supplier diversity excellence globally.  New members are required to complete a rigorous induction process, which is conducted biannually.  Once inducted, members must adhere to certain criteria.
